When last we left off, I was talking about the Galaxy Scouts Prelude series of short adventures. And one question I’ve been getting is, where are they all leading? The characters you know are all older here, scattered among the stars. Heck, some aren’t even Galaxy Scouts any more. What is it all prelude to? What gives?
Well, if Jean-Luc can do it, why not Scoutmaster Greene?
It’s an epic adventure in ten full-length episodes coming to the Radio Theater very soon. Greene has been retired for some time, but he’s called back into action to solve a mystery—or several of them—when he’s visited by the daughter of his…old…friend…Scoutmaster Songh. Along the way, he pulls together a crew of old actual friends and old Galaxy Scouts alike, there are side quests—or are they?—and they find closure—and more—over a long-ago tragedy.
They also really enjoy hyphens.
Think of the Prelude episodes as Short Treks, leading up to the full series. It seemed like a fun way to reset the Scouts, introduce new characters and new situations, and give a taste of what to expect.
The one thing we can say for certain? It’s not that easy being Greene.
Before the Greene series starts, I’d suggest going back to the Galaxy Scouts episodes from before. Relive the Perihelion Derby as Troop 3.14159 faces off against Songh and his troop. Revisit the theme planet Farfutureland and rediscover Sarah Sidney and her father, Galt. They’re all in the Radio Theater podcast feed, available in whichever podcatcher you prefer or at our site here. (I’m partial to Overcast myself.)
Don’t worry, regular Radio Theater episodes are on the way as well. But when the idea for this story hit, I knew it was going to be larger—and I knew I needed to take it more seriously—than a typical Radio episode. But Tesla, Commander Jetpack, the Fog, and the rest are all still here.
For now, on to the next Prelude episode, where we will meet Doctor Julius M’yeyes on one of the worst days of his life…possibly the last one…
Looking back on Farfutureland, we’ve introduced a new shirt in the Radio Theater store at Cotton Bureau, the official Farfutureland souvenir shirt. It’s the happiest place in the known galaxy, so they say…
Look for new shirts coming to the store. We’ll be doing some limited time shirts too, but this one’s there for the long run.
All right, back to work. These episodes aren’t going to make themselves.
